Heart Garden Nail Art
Press samples

This month, the ladies and I decided to do the theme of "Allyship" again in honour of Pride and Indigenous History month. While a lot of the manicures I end up creating are not the easiest to discuss, I hope that the art I create resonates with someone as I often find the research and creation of these designs both educational and emotional.

Heart Garden Nail Art

I am starting this month of with nail art that embodies the campaign “Honouring Memories, Planting Dreams” which invites everyone to plant heart gardens to honour the children lost to the residential school system, survivors and their families and support Truth and Reconciliation. Heart gardens can be made of paper and be indoor or outdoor and include real flowers or medicinal plants. A free e-book was recently made available written by Canadian activist, social worker and professor Cindy Blackstock. The illustrations are done by Amanda Strong and talk about the journey of Spirit Bear and his friend Jake and the importance of heart gardens and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. This is a book for all ages!
