It seems like breakfast sandwiches are all the rage! If Alan and I go out in the morning, we notice LINES of cars at drive-through windows picking up their morning coffee, donuts, and ?? breakfast sandwiches?!
Here’s one of my favorites. It takes a lot less time than heading out to a fast-food chain and can save you a bundle of money. On our trip, I could make them up in about 5 minutes.
Ham and Egg Bagels with Cream Cheese
(Per serving)
Ingredients:
1 bagel (we love “everything” bagels, but your favorite is best!)
2-3 tablespoons cream cheese
Fried ham
1 fried egg (I love eggs over easy, but you might consider over medium or hard for this sandwich just so it’s not too messy)
Fry 1-3 thin slices of ham (according to taste) and 1 egg in a griddle.
While they are frying, toast your bagel.
When the bagel pops up, coat it with as much cream cheese as you want. (Heavy is fine, but it will melt a little and may be a bit harder to handle.)
Add the fried egg to one half of the bagel and the fried ham to the other.
Serve it immediately! It doesn’t look like much, but bagels are very filling, and this meal will keep you going all morning!
“Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good:
for his mercy endureth for ever.” (Psalm 106:1)
