Black Friday is coming earlier (online) my friend

s. Madewell just posted that all of their site is 30% off! Which means my new favorite jacket / shirt thing is 30% off. This was the only thing I ended up putting my closet after a rowdy round of “keep or return” on my instagram and I’m glad I listened. It’s not extremely heavy and light enough to wear as a fall jacket or long button up shirt. To receive 30% off your Madewell purchase use promo code: Earlybird

I’ve worn it over dresses with tights and denim with turtlenecks (pictured below). It’s the perfect layering piece for the season.

I did some major closet cleaning during shelter in place earlier this spring and I have tried to be extremely picky when adding new pieces to my closet. I am paying attention to both fit and material. If I don’t like the way it pinches in the arms I’m not going to keep it (don’t ask how man times I’ve done that). In the morning when I am getting out of my comfy pajamas the last thing I want to do is put on a jacket that’s slightly tight in the arms. (cue the Chris Farely song).

If you are in the market for a perfect blazer style jacket, Madewell is my go to. I have several colors and styles of their blazers. If they are wool, I size up to a large. I have styled them:

With a concert tee
With a tulle skirt
With a bow blouse
With high waisted jeans
and As a pant suit

My top picks at Madewell for jackets and blazers are:
Larsen Blazer
Dorset Blazer
Caldwell Blazer
Plaid Crossbay Jacket

Jackets are a great way to pull a look together while keeping warm and looked tailored. I love my oversized free people cardigans but sometimes a nice crisp jacket with a hint of stretch keeps the look chic and professional.

I take a medium in all Madewell Jackets unless they are wool, then I size up to large. For size reference I am 170lbs and 5’5”.
